James Barlow’s ‘Steals of the Month’ for June 2013

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

The Sizzling heat of Houston has descended upon us. I have picked three wines for this month’s steals that are quintessential must haves for the crazy heat this summer. I have picked a red, white, and sparkling rose that are perfected for our ridiculously hot time of the year. Try and enjoy these picks for your summer extravaganzas!

Agriverde Montepulciano 2011
Abruzzo, Italy
Cash Price $9.99

What a Steal! Big black fruits of currant and cassis with smidgeons of plum on a bed of toasted tea leaves. Medium tannins and soft acids jump into a soft finish of tobacco and spice. Great Table Wine!

Domaine de Pouy White Blend 2011
Gascogne, France
Cash Price $8.59

This wine is for all the Sauvignon Blanc lovers that are ready to expand their palate and try something new and fun. Fresh flavors of grapefruit, lime and fresh cut grass cut through wet stone and melon. Zesty!

Castillo Perelada ‘Pescador’ Rose N/V

A wine that is absolutely perfect for this weather! A dry and lightly sparkling beauty that offers flavors of cranberry, strawberry, and rose petals play into fresh acids. A can’t miss this summer for the all pool parties! I LOVE THIS WINE!

Thank You,
