JAMES BARLOW’S ‘STEALS OF THE MONTH’ FOR FEBRUARY 2014

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

I hope you all have enjoyed the slightly warmer weather in the past week.  I often find some of the best values in the world of wine to be in France.  The 2009 and 2010 vintages were some of the best that France has seen across the board.  Take the opportunity to scoop up these outstanding vintages while you can!

Mazets St. Victor Red Blend 2010

Cotes du Rhone, France

Cash Price $9.49

This is my go-to region for value in the entire world.  I have personally been to this vineyard and seen the amazing care that has been taken from vine to wine.  Flavors of black raspberry, plum and cassis.  Notes of garrigue and black pepper on a smooth, textured finish.

Jean Louis Trocard Sauvignon Blanc 2010

Bordeaux, France

Cash Price $9.49

This Sauvignon Blanc is deliciously refreshing!  Flavors of grapefruits, citrus lemon lime and melon.  The finish is crisp, clean and un-oaked with notes of green apple and just a hint of bell pepper.

Chateau Romains Red Blend 2009

Bordeaux (St. Emilion), France

Cash Price $7.99

Deliciously fruit forward from the start.  Flavors of red cherry, wild berry and red currant.  Soft acids and integrated tannins.  Finish offers hints of toasted oak, smoke and just a hint of leather.

Thank You,

  1. I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own weblog and was wondering
what all is needed to get setup? I’m assuming
having a blog like yours would cost a pretty
penny? I’m not very web savvy so I’m not 100% sure. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks
