JAMES BARLOW’S ‘THE STEALS OF THE MONTH’ FOR AUGUST 2014

Hello ladies and Gentlemen,

August is one of the toughest months of the year in Houston.  Humidity and heat are sky high and it seems as if there will never be a reprieve.  Let me offer some relief with these steals of the month.  We received a new Cabernet recently that will take Houston by storm with its low price and excellent quality.  Make sure to try these wines and survive the scorching days ahead.

Astrid Cabernet Sauvignon

California

Cash Price $8.49

This is a killer Cab at a crazy low price!  Soft, supple with red fruits and plush tannins.  Round, smooth finish with hints of cedar and vanilla.  Must Try!

Chateau Bonnet Blanc

Bordeaux, France

Cash Price $9.99

Tasty little Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Muscadelle blend.  Crisp citrus fruits and zesty acids that are rounded out and turn tropical on the finish.  No Oak.

Chateau Penya Rose

Roussillon, France

Cash Price $8.49

Dangerously easy drinking Rose.  Flavors of Moreno cherries and red raspberry pair with just a whiff of garrigue and spice. Excellent acidity and deliciously dry!  Mostly Grenache based.

Thank You,

James C. Barlow
