I usually do not post sale events, but I am really pleased to be able to offer you this winery at spectacular pricing. Williams Selyem is one of the best Pinot Noir producers in the United States and a classic example from The Russian River. This vintage is one of the
best in recent record and one of the last vintages that famed wine maker Bob Cabral was at the helm. Limited opportunity for a great price point!

Final Cash Price $73.56
56 bottles available
The 14-year-old Drake Estate Vineyard provides Williams-Selyem with the majority of fruit for this flagship blend, which is crafted with primarily Pommard selections and then layered with Heritage clones like Swan, Mt. Eden, Martini and Wente. The nuances of blackberries, ripe cherries, Italian plums, Shitake mushrooms and crème brûlée fill your glass. The opulent and rich tannins are emphasized by the dark berry fruits and complement the lengthy, velvety and unctuous finish. These focused dark fruits and cherry cola flavors truly highlight the unique terrior expressions of the Russian River Valley. Very age worthy
Wine Enthusiast – “Showing impeccable elegance, this is totally dry and tart in acidity, with a quietly tannic astringency that suggests pairing with lamb or steak. While it’s not an ager, the cola, pomegranate, cherry and mushroom flavors are classic and complex. “
International Wine Cellar – “Bright ruby-red. Highly perfumed aromas of fresh red berries, potpourri and minerals, with a hint of smokiness in the background. On the palate, intense raspberry and bitter cherry flavors are lifted by tangy acidity and a hint of white pepper. Very precise pinot with strong finishing lift and cut and mineral-driven persistence. Quite nervy, in a style that reminds me a lot of the Sonoma Coast. “
Williams Selyem Westside Road Pinot Noir 2012
Cash Price 109.99 but Spec’s Key $14.00 discount
Final Cash Price $95.99
5 bottles available
This wine is crafted from the finest growers along Westside Road – Allen, Bacigalupi, Bucher, Rochioli Riverblock and the Williams Selyem Estate. The brilliant, red color is simply captivating. Floral notes of red rose and crushed rocks permeate the nose. The glass fills with red fruit driven by notes of cranberry, fresh strawberries and raspberries. With some air, deeper pitched aromas of Morello cherry penetrate the alluring aromatic profile. The nutmeg and allspice give way to a mineral-like finish, which is complemented by subtle vanilla flavors. The vivacious acids and long rich finish balance out this wine for cellar longevity.
Wine Enthusiast – “The wine is always a blend of the winery’s best vineyards in the northern, warm section of the valley, including Allen, Rochioli Riverblock and Williams Selyem’s Estate. The 2012 is dry, tannic, delicately structured and mouthwateringly tart, with cranberry, raspberry, cherry, sandalwood and dried herb flavors. Enjoy it now and through 2018. “
International Wine Cellar – “Dark ruby. Pungent smoke- and spice-accented aromas of raspberry, cherry-cola and zesty minerals. Offers vibrant red fruit and candied rose flavors, with a touch of bitter blood orange adding focus and grip. Shows the urgency of a cooler vintage but with the depth of fruit one expects from wines made from this area. Finishes silky and long, with resonating minerality and excellent spicy persistence.”
Williams Selyem Sonoma County Pinot Noir 2012
Cash Price $71.59 but Spec’s Key $16.56 discount
Final Cash Price 55.03
16 bottles available
The nose is very floral at first with a beautiful lilac aroma and leads into strawberry and Montgomery cherry notes. The wine is beautifully framed with allspice and vanilla. Hints of freshly cut tarragon add a savory complexity to this delicious offering. The palate leads with strawberry and cherry notes and the juicy acidity seems to carry the wine and close with a silky finish. Overall, it is very round and unctuous in the mouth. An amalgam of younger vineyards from the Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast, primarily Pommard and Dijon clones, this wine shows the true diversity of Sonoma County. The long texture finishes with a kiss of cherry fruit and mouthwatering acidity.
International Wine Cellar – “Bright ruby. Powerful cherry and blackberry scents are energized by tangy acidity and a smoky mineral quality. At once rich and lively on the palate, offering sweet dark berry flavors and a touch of licorice. In a weighty, rather masculine style for this producer, with a note of cola building on the youthfully tannic finish. “
The Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir aroma seems to jump from the glass with wild berry notes of alpine strawberry, blackberry, and subtle hints of blueberry and pomegranate. These fruit elements marry extremely well with the deeper bass notes and complement the oak spices and hints of grilled herbs. The palate is equally matched with a depth in complexity that rivals the aroma. The wild berry fruit profile gives way to a vibrant acidity and a wonderfully integrated tannin profile with a surprisingly delicate floral lift on the finish. The bright Sonoma Coast acidity is balanced by the velvety, rich finish. The 2012 Sonoma Coast would be the perfect accompaniment to a grilled squab or grilled saddle of rabbit.
International Wine Cellar – “Bright ruby-red. Mineral- and spice-accented red and dark berries on the nose and in the mouth, with a suave floral nuance coming up with air. Silky and precise initially, then more structured in the mid-palate, with a note of bitter cherry emerging. Finishes with repeating minerality, fine-grained, gripping tannins and excellent energy and length.”
100% of this wine is comprised of fruit from the Vista Verde Vineyard, located a couple miles south-east of Hollister, California, near the small town of Tres Pinos in San Benito County. This heavy limestone vineyard is separated into nine blocks that include clones such as Pommard, Calera, Canada, 667, Mt. Eden, and Swan.
