JAMES BARLOW’S ‘STEALS OF THE MONTH’ FOR MAY 2015/ DIRECTIONS FOR TASTING

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

I really love these picks for the month of May.  As the heat rises, my wine selections become fresh and vivacious.   I am excited to hear everyone’s feedback!  Also,  The Tasting at the New Spec’s Oak Ridge North is booked solid.  It filled up within an hour!  We plan on holding these tastings on a regular basis, so don’t fret if you were unable to be confirmed.  The address for the tasting is

27490 I-45 North

Oak Ridge North

Montgomery, TX 77385

(Right beside the Office Depot on I-45 Northbound side)

Trumpeter Chardonnay by Felipe Rutini 2013

Mendoza, Argentina

Cash Price $9.99

One of my favorite Argentinian producers for the price.  Flavors of pineapple and melon seep through light acids with notes of cream and touches of toasted oak and vanilla. Delicious!

Foncalieu Reserve Du Sud Red Blend 2009

Minervois, France

Cash Price $8.59

Fleshy and food friendly with flavors of plum, black cherry and raspberry.  Notes of black pepper and stewed fruits with easy tannins and acids.  Great Tuesday Wine!

Cruz De Piedra Rose 2014

Calatayud, Spain

Cash Price $7.99

I truly love good dry rose under $10.  Ripe and refreshing flavors of wild strawberry and candied red cherries flow through medium plus acidity.  Clean and Pure!

Thank You,

    Greetings James,
Back in the 1980s I started buying better Cabs & Bordeaux from the Spec’s Smith St location. When I moved to ranch land between Houston & Dallas, I started buying from you @ the Spec’s Sawdust location.
I now find myself w/ 350-450 bottles of very good wine that I know I will never drink due to about a 50% loss of palate & taste due a sinus condition.
I have 3 sons but none of them appreciate or drink wine.
The wines have been kept in my cellar @ 50-55 degrees since their release when I purchased them.
Robt Parker’s “Wine Advocate” was my primary wine buying guide as to specific vintage & producer, w/ “The Wine Spectator” being a distant 2nd.
Would you please direct me to a person or entity as to selling these wines @ a max price?
This is not a fire sale & I am in no great rush.
Thank you for any help or suggestion you might make.
