Hello Ladies and Gentlemen
Please disregard the dates on the previous email for the tastings. I was looking at my September calendar! THE FOLLOWING DAYS AND DATES ARE CORRECT.
CATENA TASTING THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15TH 6:30-8:00PM
ANDY ERICKSON TASTING WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 21ST 6:30-8:00PM
I have two very exciting tastings coming up in October. Both of these events are free with all the details listed below. Call 281-362-9131 to RSVP or email jamesbarlow25@hotmail.com. Seating is limited.
I have the pleasure of hosting a Catena Collectors event at the Spec’s in Oak Ridge on Thursday, October 15th from 6:30-8pm with Catena’s Luxury Wine Specialist Jorge Liloy. This tasting will offer some of Argentina’s iconic and most collectable wines. All wines being poured will be high end (most $100 and up), so my only stipulation is that if you would like to attend this free event you must be willing and wanting to buy some of the offerings.
Wine being poured:

- Catena Zapata White Stones Chardonnay
- Catena Zapata White Bones Chardonnay
- Catena Zapata Nicasia Vineyard Malbec
- Catena Zapata Argentino Malbec
- Catena Zapata Adrianna Vineyard Malbec
- Catena Zapata Nicolas Catena Zapata
I am extremely excited about the FREE CONSUMER TASTING on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 21ST from 6:30-8:00 PM.
SCREAMING EAGLE FAMED WINE MAKER ANDY ERICKSON WILL BE JOINING US TO TASTE AND TALK ABOUT SEVERAL OF HIS STUNNING WINES!
Winemaker Talk: Andy Erickson
The new winemaker at Napa’s Screaming Eagle is challenged with maintaining the cult Cabernet’s excellence while making outstanding wine at Favia, Ovid and more.
Andy Erickson was hired as winemaker at Napa Valley’s Screaming Eagle in 2006, when Jean Phillips, the founder of the winery that practically invented California cult Cabernet status, sold it after 20 years on the 54-acre Oakville estate. Erickson had the unenviable task of filling the shoes of Screaming Eagle winemaker Heidi Peterson Barrett, but his pedigree indicated he’d be up for the task—Erickson started his winemaking career at Harlan Estate and was then named winemaker at Staglin in 2001 before founding his own winery, Favia, in 2003 with his viticulturist wife, Annie Favia; in addition to his duties at Screaming Eagle and Favia, he is consulting winemaker for Hartwell, Ovid, Dancing Hares, Dalla Valle and Arietta in Napa and Jonata in the Santa Ynez Valley.
