JAMES BARLOW’S ‘STEALS OF THE MONTH’ FOR MAY 2016

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

I hope everyone is braving the torrential downpours this month has offered!  I have never seen so much rain in Houston.  That being said, the heat is descending upon our city so my steals this month are light, fresh and thirst quenching.  P.S. Drop by the Spec’s Oak Ridge North location for some Rose that most store do not carry that are absolute steals!  Ask for me.

Ca’momi Rosso di Napa 2014

Napa Valley, California

Cash Price $8.99

This rosso is truly built for BBQ with Zinfandel being a primary varietal of this blend.  Flavors of dark jammy blueberry and blackberry zing through a medley of spices and soft tannins.  James Score: 89 Points

Beppe Bianco N/V

Italy

Cash Price $9.99

I have found a wonderfully light, ever day hot weather wine with just a touch of sweetness to tickle the palate.  Flavors of lemon blossoms, lychee and vanilla are balanced by vibrant acids and just a kiss of sweetness.  James Score: 88 Points

Pierre Archambault Rose d’Anjou 2015

Loire Valley, France

Cash Price $8.99

I love Rose and this delicious wine has a hint of sweetness on the back end.  Flavors of rose petals, wild strawberries and raspberry sinew through medium acids and whiffs of candied red cherries on the finish.  James Score: 88 Points

Thank You,
